O’FALLON, Mo. ( –

St. Charles County prosecutors have charged a man after he stabbed a subject with a pair of scissors while they were making a waffle at a hotel last Thursday.

Vincent Sansone, 39, was charged with second-degree assault and armed criminal action after stabbing an unknown victim at the Residence Inn in O’Fallon on Thursday, April 13.

A witness to the incident told police she observed Sansone attack the victim from behind with the scissors while the victim was making a waffle at the hotel breakfast bar.

According to the police investigation, the victim stated he did not know Sansone and only spoke with him at the breakfast bar for a few seconds about the juice being served, prior to the attack.

Sansone told police he had no memory of the incident but did say he recalled talking to the victim about the juice. He additionally pointed out to police that the date was “Friday the 13th” and he hears “voices” in his head.

The victim suffered stab wounds to their neck/shoulder area and cuts to their face. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Sansone is being held on a $100,000 bond.
