(NEWSER) – “Sometimes, life gives you lemons,” begins the Facebook post from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. “Sometimes, it gives you bananas. And sometimes, it gives you something you’d never expect!” The unexpected came amid a donation of 45 boxes of bananas that were donated to the TDCJ on account of being already ripe, reports Sky News. The officers who picked up the shipment noticed something amiss, began inspecting the two pallets, and found 540 packages of a “white powdery substance” tucked amid the bananas; that substance was later confirmed to be about $18 million in cocaine. The boxes came from Ports of America in Freeport. The TDCJ notes that the Drug Enforcement Administration and US Customs and Border Protection are investigating.
