Memphis continued to add to its 2019 football recruiting class when three-star running back Rodrigues Clark committed to the Tigers on Sunday.
Clark, from Starkville, Miss., made the announcement via Twitter. He is the fifth player to commit to the Tigers this cycle. It comes on the heels of Memphis receiving commitments from tight end Drew Martin (North Little Rock, Ark.) and quarterback Sheldon Layman (McGill-Toolen, Ala.) over the past week.
Clark is ranked No. 38 in Mississippi by 247Sports and hails from Starkville High School, the alma mater of former Memphis quarterback Brady Davis, who transferred after spring practice in April and will play at Illinois State.
Clark ran for 1,705 yards and 17 touchdowns last season and had offers from Georgia State, UAB, Southern Miss and Arkansas State, among others, according to recruiting sites.
The Tigers currently have a loaded backfield with leading rushers Darrell Henderson, Patrick Taylor and Tony Pollard all back. Freshman Timothy Taylor, from East High, also showed potential during spring practice.
