HARRISON, Mich. – A Harrison woman has been sentenced to three to 20 years in prison for a July home invasion involving the attempted theft of frozen sausages.

Crystal Meranda plead guilty to first degree home invasion in October before a Clare County judge.

Clare County sheriff’s deputies say Meranda was arrested after entering a home in the early morning hours of July 8.

Meranda was found by the homeowners removing sausages from their freezer.

On Monday, a Clare County judge handed her the three to 20 sentence along with an order to pay $1,698 in fines and court costs.

The Clare County Prosecutor’s Office says another case pending against Meranda was dismissed pursuant to taking the plea agreement in this case.
